VARIEL has been in the business for over fifty years. In 1964 the manufacturing plant was established as a division of a fastener assembly plant called Montážní podnik spojů Praha (Prague Mounting Joint Venture) in Zruč nad Sázavou. The company satisfied needs for fasteners used in a large scale of packaging and technology sheltering. VARIEL, as a joint-stock company was founded in 1992.

Originally this technology referred to utility sheds only. Till present they have remained a part of the company’s product range in a changed form. In the 80s company expanded its product range and included containers designated for accommodating of various kinds of technological systems which were principally designed for the use in telecommunication constructions. Since the mid-90s the technological and special containers have become leading products in the company’s product range.

At the turn of the century, the product range was expanded to include standardized ISO certified containers that are used primarily in the military and integrated rescue systems, but also in the civilian sphere. In addition to containers, fiberglass and composite products form an important part of our product range, the main market of which is the sector of mass transport vehicle production, especially rail vehicles.

Undoubtedly, Variel´s telephone booths and fiber glass postal boxes have remained our most popular products throughout the Czech Republic.

Variel is located on the outskirts of Zruč nad Sázavou, which is about 60 km southeast of Prague and 5 km far from the motorway D1 (connecting Prague and Brno). The company has its own railway delivery tracks that lead to the company from the nearby railway station..

The company employs approximately 170 employees. In addition to a high degree of know-how, the company also has very modern technological equipment. In its machinery we can find a wide range of very sophisticated CNC machines, e.g. 2D laser for sheet metal burning, 3D laser for profile burning, press brakes, punching machines, double-sided sheet bender, 3D tube bender, 3D printer, five-axis machining center, welding robot specially designed for container welding, modern paint shop with surface preparation by blasting, degreasing and phosphating, welding machines for welding steel, stainless steel and aluminum, top certified workstation for gluing etc.
